  3. Kuala Lumpur is a hub for cultural activities and economic centre of Malaysia due to its position as the capital as well as being a primate city. In addition, Kuala Lumpur is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers. Other attraction includes the Kuala Lumpur China Town or Petaling Street which is the oldest part of the city and today's famous for its original imitations.
    Flooding is a frequent occurrence in Kuala Lumpur whenever there is a heavy rain. Dust particles from forest fires from nearby Sumatera sometimes cast a haze over the region. It is a major source of pollution in the city together with open burning, emission from motor vehicles and construction work.

  8. My 1 pence thought on Kuala Lumpur or KL as i am a born and breed here;
    Vibrant, animated and kaleidoscopic are KL's building architecture features. Fusion of old colonial design, Malay Islamic inspiration, modern and post modern structures are becoming a norm in this metropolis skyline nowadays. Major scenery contrast compared currently and say.. 20, 30 years ago.
    Exotic and avant-garde variety of cuisine available as more tourist and non-tourist alike arrived in KL nowadays. Not to be outshined, local gastronomy are thrill to offer an array of tantalising and fabulous mouthed watering feast such as 'sate', 'char kuew tiaw' and 'roti canai' to name a few.
    The bad news is, due to KL's rapid development, it has triggered a huge influx of low skill foreign workers from Indonesia, Nepal, Burma, Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Vietnam of which many of these low skill workers enter the country illegally. Thus, contributing a high social unrest and vice activities in the city.
    Finally, Kuala Lumpur would literally means "muddy estuary". I'll reckon KL as one of the wonderful and balanced metropolitan in the world.

  9. Surprising city~ Kuala Lumpur
    Kuala Lumpur or “KL”, the capital for Malaysia is one of the incredibly fascinating and diverse Asian city. The best thing I love about Kuala Lumpur is the year-round tropical rainforest climate, which is warm and sunny, along with abundant rainfall.

    KL has a myriad of splendid routes and enjoyable day trips. I enjoy exploring the city for foods and places of interest during long holiday. One will always be amazed of what they could find while just strolling along the sidewalks of the city.

    “Truly more with every visit. It must be Kuala Lumpur!” ~Sharon

  10. ‘Selamat datang’, ‘huan ying’ or welcome to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. You should not be surprised to receive the multi-lingual greetings from any Malaysian since we are known for our multi-lingual and multi-cultural society. The sights and sounds of the society living together peacefully are really amongst the most significance achievement by any country.
    Besides known for its rich of social and cultural values, Kuala Lumpur being the metropolis that was born out of the forest some 150-year ago has also continues to develop its other potential to be the central of business and entertainment. The city although is younger than many other towns in the Peninsular of Malaysia has had developed faster and triumphant mainly due to its strategic location and tip-top infrastructure available. Notwithstanding that the Government has continued to build more remarkably beautiful and fascinating buildings in the city; the government’s initiatives to persistently ensure a parallel management of Kuala Lumpur’s forest were put in place should be appreciated. It is anticipated that Kuala Lumpur will be the best city within the South Asia Region for people to work and live!

  13. Kuala Lumpur is a well-developed city with a state-of-art public transportation services, including buses, taxis, commutter and LRT. However, due to lack of awareness amongt its citizen, most of them are not using public transportation instead they are driving their own vehicles either for shopping or to get to their workplace. As a result, almost all of the time and areas in Kuala Lumpur is experiencing road congestions. The situation comes to the worst when accident happens during the jam or flood occurs as a result of heavy rain. The authority i.e. City Hall as well as the Ministry of Transport (MOT) should pay due attention as this problem would affect business activities in the long term.
